How It Works
The Memo referral system allows you to earn rewards by referring new projects to the platform. When a project owner uses your referral link and creates a community, you get credit as the referrer.

Referral Rules
Understanding how referrals are counted is essential to maximizing your rewards:
Communities must be active for 7 days before they count toward your referral total.
How Communities Are Counted

| Unbonded Community | +1 total | You only get +1 credit once, regardless of how many unbonded communities a referee creates |
What Counts as "Active"?
A community is considered active when:
- It has been linked to the Memo bot for at least 7 consecutive days
- The community chat remains active (not deleted or abandoned)
- The token rules remain deployed on-chain
Example: If you refer a project owner who creates 3 bonded communities and 2 unbonded communities, you'll receive:
- 3 points (one for each bonded community)
- 1 point (one total for unbonded communities)
- Total: 4 referral points
Reward Distribution
Top 10 Leaderboard
The top 10 referrers are determined by total referral points and receive exclusive rewards:
- 10% of dev fees distributed among the top 10
- Leaderboard updates daily
- Rankings based on total active referral credits
The leaderboard is calculated daily at midnight UTC. Make sure your referred communities stay active to maintain your ranking!
Payment Structure
Rewards are distributed proportionally among the top 10 referrers based on their referral count. The more active communities you refer, the larger your share of the dev fees.

Understanding Bonded vs. Unbonded
Pro Tip: Encourage project owners to create bonded communities rather than unbonded. Each bonded community counts as +1, while unbonded communities only give you +1 total no matter how many they create!
Bonded Communities:
- Have token liquidity locked or bonded
- More stable and trustworthy
- Each bonded community = +1 referral point
Unbonded Communities:
- No liquidity requirements
- More flexible for new projects
- All unbonded communities = +1 total referral point
FAQ
How do I know if my referral was successful?
Your referred project will appear in your /myreferrals list once the project owner creates or links a community. Remember, it must stay active for 7 days to count toward your leaderboard position.
Can I refer the same person multiple times?
Yes! If they create multiple bonded communities, each one counts separately toward your total. However, all unbonded communities from the same person only count as +1 total.
When are rewards distributed?
The leaderboard updates daily, and the top 10 referrers share 10% of the dev fees. Specific distribution schedules will be announced in the official Memo community channels.
What happens if a community I referred becomes inactive?
If a community doesn't maintain the 7-day activity requirement or is deleted, it will no longer count toward your referral total. Your leaderboard position will adjust accordingly.
Can I see the current leaderboard?
The official leaderboard will be published regularly in the Memo community channels. Stay tuned for announcements!
What if someone creates a community without using my link?
The referral link must be used before creating or linking the community. If they've already created it, they would need to create a new community using your referral link for you to receive credit.
